How to Create or Update (Add & Edit) Task Layout

Introduction


In Kylas CRM, Task Layouts help you customize the fields that appear when creating or editing a task. This allows businesses to capture relevant task details specific to their processes and ensures consistent task creation. 

Admins can configure layouts with mandatory or optional fields, rearrange field order, and control visibility. 

 

Prerequisites 

  1. Permissions: Any user with Admin access can create or update task layouts. 
  1. Product Plans: Available in the Elevate plan. 
  1. Activities to be Completed: Customize the layout for adding or editing a task by selecting fields, setting field properties, and publishing the layout. 

 

Step-by-Step Process 

 

1.) Login to Kylas and Navigate to: 

 

CRM Settings → Customization → Layouts 
From the Kylas Dashboard, click the gear icon on the top right to access CRM Settings, then select "Layouts" under the Customization section.

2.) Select the Task Module 

On the Layouts page, locate and click on the Task module from the list of entities (Lead, Deal, Contact, etc.).

3.) Click on the “New Layout” Button (or Edit an Existing One) 

  • To create a new layout: Click on + Add Layout on the top right. 

  • To modify an existing layout: Hover over the layout name and click the edit icon.

4.) Configure Layout Details 

  • Enter a Layout Name (e.g., “Follow-up Task Layout”). 

  • Add a Description (optional). 

  • Click Next to proceed.

5.) Customize Fields in the Layout 

  • Drag and drop available fields from the right-side panel into the layout area and remove those which are not required. 

  • You can rearrange fields, mark fields as mandatory, or remove unnecessary ones. 

  • Click on a field to modify its properties (label, placeholder, required status, etc.).

6.) Save and Publish 

Click Save & Publish to activate the layout for users. 
Alternatively, click Save as Draft to save your changes without making them live.
