This article covers the steps for creating custom layout & assign it to specific user profile.
Prerequisites
- Permissions: Configuration Management > Layout > Basic Access: Toggle on "Create" & Administrative Access: "Update All"
- Product Plans: Elevate
- Activities to be Completed: None
Steps
Step 1: Navigate to CRM Settings > Dashboard > Customization > Layouts
Step 2: To create new Layout firstly need to choose it its applicable for add new lead or edit lead
Functionality of creating custom layout remains the same for both add or edit lead
Step 2 (a): Click on New layout
Step 2 (b): Choose required option to set up custom layout as per use case
Step 3: Click on Add section, input the layout & section name.
Click on pencil icon to update / rename the layout or section name
Now drag & drop required fields as per your sequencing / requirement
Step 4: Once sequenced as per requirement, click on Preview to view the custom layout
Step 4 (a): Incase if the field is not required click on 3 dots to to Remove field if not required or can also choose from the options i.e.
- Mark as Required - Will ensure to make it a mandatory field, without filling the details it will not allow to proceed further (denoted by Asterisk symbol *)
- Mark as Important - Can be used to capture any important information to refer at a later stage
- Incase you choose a wrong field, click on Remove button
Step 5: Click on "Save & Next"
Step 6: You can choose to mark new custom layout as default, by doing so it will auto populate the layout that all the user will see when no specific profile has been assigned & Click on Select profiles for the layout radio button to choose specific profile for custom layout
Step 7: Once you have selected desired User Profile, Click on "Save"
Step 7(a): Custom layout will be seen on layout listing page, where in you can check which user profiles is setup for this newly created layout
