How to use your own Google Maps API key in Kylas for map loads in field sales management.
This article covers the steps to take in order to create your own Google Maps API key that can be used to load Google maps in your Kylas account for field sales management.
Prerequisites:
Kylas plan: Elevate and superior plans and Field sales Addon
Permissions: Field sales update all permission
Steps to take: Create Google maps API key by following the below steps
- Sign in to Google Cloud Console: Go to the Google Cloud Console.
Create a new project:
- Click on the project drop-down and select “New Project”.
- Enter the project name and billing account (if prompted).
- Click “Create”.
Step 2: Enable the Google Maps API
Navigate to the API Library:
- In the Cloud Console, go to the menu and select
APIs & Services > Library
.
Enable the required APIs:
- Search for the "Maps JavaScript API" and click on it.
- Click the “Enable” button.
- Repeat this process for other APIs you might need, such as "Geocoding API", "Places API", etc.
Step 3: Create API Key
Navigate to the Credentials Page:
- In the Cloud Console, go to the menu and select
APIs & Services > Credentials
.
Create credentials:
- Click on “Create credentials” and select “API key”.
- An API key will be created and displayed on the screen.
Set up billing:
- Google Maps Platform requires a billing account to be linked to your project.
- In the Cloud Console, go to the menu and select
Billing
. - Link a billing account to your project (if not already done)
After getting your Google maps API key, please contact Kylas support team to get your field sales solution changed to Own API key if not done already.
Add your Google maps API key: Follow below steps to add your API key in Kylas
- Login to your Kylas account
- Navigate to CRM settings -> Field sales
- Click on 'Configuration'
- Enter your API key
- Click 'Save'
