What happens when a lead is converted to multiple entities?

In sales process, the life of a lead comes to an end, in the following scenarios - the lead gets disqualified, the business is closed in the lead stage, the lead get transformed to a 
  1. probable business opportunity (deal) or 
  2. a contact who may bring business opportunity in the furture or 
  3. a company, in case of account based marketing.
The article describes the outcomes of the Lead Conversion process, when multiple entities (Deal, Contact and Company) are selected during the Conversion process. 

Prerequisites

  1. Permissions :  Any user with permission to Edit Leads, Contacts, Deals and Companies.
  2. Product Plans : All
  3. Activities to be Completed : Lead Creation

Conversion Matrix

The following table describes the different scenarios of converting a lead. The columns from 2 to 4 describe the user input in the Lead Conversion form pertaining to Deal, Contact and Company. The column 5 describes how the lead conversion process will be executed based on the given set of user inputs.

Once a lead is converted, the user will not be able to edit the Lead. Also the user will not be able to add tasks for the converted lead. The deal, contact and company associated with the Lead can be seen in the Lead Details page. There will not be any restriction in adding notes in the Lead details page.
